The debate is completely full. We booked every possible seat (and then some). But, don't worry! Thank God for all this really cool technology. We are going to broadcast the event live on the internet. You guys can thank my trusty side-kick and best friend Pastor Luke. He is working hard on making sure everyone gets a seat and is able to watch the debate-- whether you are present at the debate or not.
Please pray for us. Please continue to support our ministry financially if you feel led. Here is the link to watch the event live:
Here is a quick blurb and part of the flier for our upcoming debate! If you would like tickets (they are free) you must reserve them by contacting Pastor Luke @ luke@defendthefaith.org
Sorry it has been so long everyone! We've been so busy with ministry that I haven't been able to be very consistent with our posts. Great stuff coming up! I'll be speaking to the GCU (Grand Canyon University) students on March 7th. And we are scheduled to have our debate with our atheist friends on April 1st, 2011 and it will be held at APOLOGIA church in Tempe. We will post more details soon.
God has been so good to us. He has blessed us with the honor of seeing Him save His people from their sins and watching them grow in Him! We'll post new stuff as soon as possible. Keep checking back guys! In the meantime, here is a local pastor's (Duncan Robinson) blog on the last camp I was given the grace to preach at.
Wow! Things are going fantastic here in Chicago. Um, I mean ministry-wise-- not the weather! Lot's of teens turned to Christ over the weekend at the winter camp I spoke at for Wheaton Bible church. But, the weather is nuts! There were up to 70mph winds and it dumped like 3-inches of snow an hour! It was an awesome sight to see.
Please continue to pray for our ministry. God has blown my mind with all of the lives He is changing. I'm humbled. I'm grateful.
Jeff Durbin
PS--- They recorded the sessions from this weekend. I'll see if I can get them and maybe you can pass them on to the youth in your church?

We have a ton of great stuff coming! Most of this is ministry you can actually join with us in. Here are a few things-- Check it out:
1. We are almost finished with plans for an upcoming debate where Vocab Malone and I will debate two-local Atheists. We are going to let you know the venue and time and date soon. So far the topic will be "Christianity or Atheism: Which makes more sense?"
How can you help? We need people to join with us financially and prayerfully. We are expecting a great turnout for this event and believe that it will be very helpful. We are hoping to have a professional recording done and DVD's later. This event will be very time consuming and will cost a lot. Please consider starting prayers and fasting on Vocab and my behalf. Also, we need brothers and sisters to join with us IMMEDIATELY to help us with APOLOGIA'S ministry costs to get us through and to the event.
2. We are finalizing the production of all of our sermons (preached at APOLOGIA CHURCH) over the last year (March 1st is our 1-year anniversary). The process is very time consuming and it has taken a while to determine where to put them up. We are basically settled on a site (sermonaudio.com) that will allow easy access through computer and hand-held devices.
How can you help? Please consider donating to APOLOGIA for the cost of setting up with the site and once we are live please share the links with your friends and families!
3. I'll be speaking over the next two-months in 3-different states. I am a camp speaker for Wheaton Bible Church, a network of Arizona Churches and I'll also be a speaker for Grand Canyon University.
How can you help? Pray for safe travel and fruitful ministry. Also, we are in need of the people of God to join with us with financial gifts of any kind to help us make it through these next 2-months.
Apologia Christian Ministries is a very small ministry. We are dependent upon brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide to pray for us and support the work of ministry. If you have been blessed by what the Lord is doing through our ministry we would be grateful if you joined with us prayerfully and financially. Many of you ask us for specifics so that you can be praying for us. We are asking God for a ministry inflow of $10,000 to get us through the next few months and to help us with the upcoming costs for ministry.
Thank you so much for your gracious love and support! Please join this ministry as we spread the Gospel and watch God grow His Kingdom! You can bless this ministry with your financial gifts immediately by clicking on the paypal tab at the top of the page.
Here is a video of the baptisms from this weekend. Enjoy!
Here is an old promo video that contains some work for television, stage and stuff. I thought I would post this (just found it on an old hard drive) while you're all waiting for the new vids to be posted (technical difficulties). So for all of you who were asking to see footage where I was a "turtle"... here you go!
Happy New Year everyone! Just a quick note. We are working on uploading two new-videos very soon. Keep checking back. These next two are really cool. :0)
*Also, please continue to pray for the upcoming Atheist debate. We are in the final stretch of finalizing details.
We receive a lot of very encouraging emails all the time (also some "interesting" emails from the cults). We wanted to post this brother's email so that you could see the incredible things God is doing through APOLOGIA and see the amazing reach this ministry has (we get emails from all over the world). We are humbled and excited by emails like this and those of you who have given through APOLOGIA should be encouraged by the amazing things God has done through your prayers and gracious support!
I found your ministry quite honestly by accident. I have a co-worker who is a JW and for quite some time believed that JW and Mormons were just like Christians. However after talking to him for just a little bit I realized how wrong I was. I had never come across the teaching of a JW before in my 39 years of life and I needed to find out more about it, so I Googled JW and found your debate with two JW’s. I was amazed not at what was said but at how much I did not know. I didn’t have the foundation to even start to talk to my co-worker about Jesus. After listening to your debates I decided to actually do my own research and really read my Bible. I was amazed at how much closer I began to get to Jesus because of this. The person of Jesus all of the sudden became more real to me in those few days than ever before and I am very grateful for that. I have been witnessing to him for a few weeks now it is very hard because the only time I see him is at work and his entire family are JW’s also he is an elder in the kingdom hall. I pray for him every night to have his eyes open and to see Jesus as he really is. Thank you for the work you do and the videos you have put out. I hope you continue to do this and share your experiences with the rest of us out here.
Your brother in Christ,
Randy (Florida)
Please Remember:
We are just a couple of days away from the end of the year and would be grateful for any year-end tax-deductable giving you might give. We are a very small ministry that God is doing crazy-great things with and would appreciate all of your gracious prayers and support! Bless you all!
We have very exciting news. Plans are underway for a public debate where Vocab Malone (host of backpack radio) and I will debate two well-known local atheists in Tempe, AZ. We will fill you in as soon as we can tie-up the loose-ends. Please be praying for us and please consider helping us with some of the ministry's needs. We put these before God's people because He has kept this ministry moving through the giving of people like you. Here are the needs:
Financially:
We have been blessed with an abundance of fruitful ministry! Our cup is overflowing with new-believers that have come to Christ and are madly in love with Him and laying their lives down in service to Him! Just tonight a huddle of mostly brand-new believers gathered up a bunch of homeless people in Tempe and served and fed them! Awesome! On the flip-side we are hurting financially as a ministry. We have a tremendous shortfall of funds and are currently seeking the Lord's provision for an immediate ministry need of $5,000 dollars to catch up before the end of the year. If any of you felt led to give anything towards this we would greatly appreciate it and you would be instrumental in keeping the wheels of APOLOGIA spinning and allowing us to continue this amazing ministry. I cannot express to you how much your giving is needed and is instrumental to keeping this ministry moving. You can give right now at the tab at the top of our blog. Or feel free to contact either Luke or I at luke@defendthefaith.org or jeff@defendthefaith.org. Don't forget that your giving is also tax-deductible.
Also, our equipment and material needs:
We have put together a ministry list of some very vital needs we have at the moment. Some of this is equipment needs for both church and outreach and some of it is materials I will need in preparation for the upcoming public debate. Any items you purchase for the ministry will be shipped directly to us and will be put to use IMMEDIATELY! Click here to go to our wishlist. Bless you and thank your for giving to the Lord through this ministry.
Here is a clip of Luke and I appearing as guest panelists on the Christian radio program "Backpack Radio" on KPKQ in Phoenix, Arizona. We are discussing a biblical justification (as well as Mormon) to the evangelism we do at the temple in Mesa, Arizona. We also discuss the nature of the false-gospel of Mormonism.
